Eroc Discography

Eroc (Joachim Heinz Ehrig) started his solo career in 1975 while he was currently the drummer of Grobschnitt. His self titled album can be considered as a cross between Grobschnitt’s typical symphonic amazing music and electronic/ synthscapes dominated by numerous original sound manipulations. Despite that he was originally recognised as a drummer, here Eroc is the man behind the machines,controlling solid essays in synth experimentations and electronic collages. His first album is an absolute must have in Kraut- electronic genre, very abstract, emotional and a mix of different moods. His following album Zwei continues to process by a combination between rock and electronic but focused on short, efficient sketches.









Humour and derision are clearly exposed in the lyrics and recitations.
Zwei is a reminiscence of Grobschnitt’s theatrical universe with lot of gags, but the atmosphere is much more introspective, sometimes delivering deliciously melancholic melodies. After this two first very recommended efforts, Eroc pursues his solo career notably providing a kind of reunion, family album Eroc 3 with others Grobschnitt members.









In parallel he also started a professional career as music producer, recently published albums of Jane, Grobschnitt among others.

Linda Ronstadt - Silk Purse

Silk Purse is Linda Ronstadt's second solo album, released in March 1970. It was recorded at Woodland Recording Studios in Nashville. The album featured songs in a heavier, more traditional country setting than Ronstadt's previous album or her work with the Stone Poneys. Linda were backed up by the pioneering band Swampwater featuring Gib Guilbeau (vocals & fiddle), John Beland (vocals, guitars, dobro), Thad Maxwell(bass), Eric White (bass) and Stan Pratt (drums). Gib & John later played also in the Flying Burrito Brothers and scored 9 hits for Curb in the 80’s. The cover shows Linda with Paul McCartney in front.

Byrds - Fifth Dimension(Remaster)

In July 1966, the album Fifth Dimension appeared. Except for Gene Clark's swan song, "Eight Miles High," on which all five original Byrds appeared, the album featured the second incarnation of the band, McGuinn, Crosby, Hillman and Clarke. The album was a deliberate departure from the sound and substance of the first two LPs. No Dylan or Seeger songs were in evidence, though four of the songs had roots in folk music. McGuinn and Crosby each began to come into their own as songwriters with this album, and collaborated well together on several numbers.
This is the rematered 1996 CD with 6 bonus tracks.

Meisner/Swan/Rich

Ex-Eagle Randy Meisner, hit writer Billy Swan ('I Can Help') and Charlie Rich,Jr son of the silver fox. A underrated trio with the bare minimum of additional musicians namely Vern Monnett(steel, guitar), John Molo & Mitchell Delevie(drums), David Morgan(piano, organ). Randy ever was my favourite eagle so nice bass playing and vocals can be assumed. Charlie Rich,Jr wrote 6 songs, co-wrote 2 with Billy Swan and sang lead vocals on many of the tracks, too. This unassuming but stunning trio are in the same league as Rice/Hillman/Pederson or Poco and many other true greats of country based rock.

The Hillmen - The Hillmen

Chris Hillman became well known in San Diego's folk music community as a solid player, which garnered him an invitation to join his first band, the Scottsville Squirrel Barkers. When the band broke up at the end of 1963, Hillman received an invitation to join the Golden State Boys, then regarded as the top bluegrass band in Southern California, featuring future country star Vern Gosdin, his brother Rex, and banjoist Don Parnley. Shortly thereafter the band changed its name to The Hillmen, and soon Chris was appearing regularly on television and using a fictitious ID, Chris Hardin, to allow the underage musician into the country bars where many of his gigs were held.

Medicine Head - Medicine Head

Medicine Head formed in Stafford in 1968. The group recorded six albums. They Chart when Pictures in the Sky reached number 22 in 1971. One of their albums was titled Dark Side of the Moon in 1972, released the year before the Pink Floyd album of the same name. If the Medicine Head release had gained attention, Pink Floyd may have had to reconsider the title of their masterwork.
They went through line-up changes with their largely backing personnel, but did achieve a total of four hit singles, the best-known of which are
One and One is One (1973) and Rising Sun (1973). At various times the line-up also included Tony Ashton, formerly of Ashton, Gardner and Dyke, and Keith Relf, the former Yardbirds vocalist.
Two Man Band was their last album, and Medicine Head finally folded in 1977. In 2005 Angel Air released the album Don't Stop The Dance. In effect it was a 'lost' album, compiling some singles from an unsuccessful period and some unreleased sessions with the band as a five piece.
In March 2007 Medicine Head's debut album New Bottles, Old Medicine was re-released on CD by Cherry Red Records.
