Emmylou Harris typically omits 1970's Gliding Bird from her discography; her first album was issued on the folk label Jubilee, which filed for bankruptcy within weeks of the LP's release. Cut before her tenure with Gram Parsons, it's a straightforward folk effort, owing more to Joni Mitchell than anything else; although most of the songs were composed by Tom Slocum, Harris' first husband, there are also a number of ill-suited covers, including Hank Williams' I Saw the Light and the Bacharach/David composition I'll Never Fall in Love Again.

Thank you for posting this. I've been looking for Gliding Bird for so long I had forgotten to look for it online. I appreciate the efforts to post it. These may not be EH's finest moments, but I am sure glad I finally got to listen to the album.
This bastard says thanks, been waiting for a proper CD reissue for some time, partially to replace an old tape, but to see this album put in perspective of it's time.
She's a real "Lady of the Canyon" ala Joni and Joan here.. nice stuff.
