Sloop John B - Beach Boys
This is a 15 minutes long Sloop John B. edit, sung by the Beach Boy's legendary lineup Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine and Mike Love. May the new Brian Wilson album That Lucky Old Sun become a worldwide success for him...
Hmmmm ... I listened to it, and I think it's a real missed opportunity. As nobody is likely to try this again. The edits are really clunky (maybe they were trying for a hip-hop fractured feel that doesn't come off), and the repetitions of track/vocal segments gets tiring. Good to hear once!
This is actually only Al Jardine. It was a CD that comes with a children's book that Jardine put out... it's supposed to be played along while the story is being read, thus the odd editing.
